This month we captured fall imagery of the property and added it to the Montanoso Map.
We added a new map control to toggle through the seasons. Going forward this will provide a great resource for watching the evolution of the project and property.
Zoom in to the hilltop and see if you can find the results of a our design charrette. The main street starts at the southwest corner and leads to the northeast.
I repaired the Front Steps after they were damaged by the cows. I was able to rely on old photos to piece them back together. I wouldn’t say they are as good as new, it’ll take some time for them to settle and stabilize. I’ve been using lots of coffee grounds from Mazama in Dripping Springs to augment the soil and provide a foundation to hold the steps in place.
My mom visited and we used the opportunity to sow native grasses and flowers within the Cow Fence. We used the Hummers and Singers mix to bring more birds to the hilltop. I wrote a Twitter thread reflecting on the fence.
We had a week of rain that helped rehydrate the landscape. Grasses are coming back nicely before the winter. The rain should provide a good start to the seeds we sowed and help the stairs settle and stabilize.
